Procurement FAQ

Questions buyers ask before sampling.

What does super hydrophobic mean?

It describes a low-surface-energy top layer intended to make water bead more readily and help reduce the effort needed to remove moisture, fingerprints, and light contamination. Performance should be approved against a sample or agreed test method.

Is this different from ordinary HMC?

Yes. HMC provides the multi-layer anti-reflective stack, while the super-hydrophobic top layer is an additional surface treatment focused on cleanability and water or oil repellency.

Does the blue-green reflection tint the wearer's vision?

The visible blue-green color is mainly a coating reflection. Residual lens color and perceived transmission should still be checked on samples before bulk approval.

Does blue cut guarantee UV420 performance?

No. Blue-cut terminology does not define one universal spectral curve. State the required UV and blue-violet wavelength ranges, transmission limits, and test method in the purchase specification.

Can we specify a contact angle or abrasion result?

Yes. Provide the required test standard, threshold, and conditioning method. The coating program can then be sampled and quoted against that requirement.

Are 65 mm and 70 mm available in every prescription?

Availability changes with sphere, cylinder, design, and coating stock. Send the required power matrix so diameter coverage can be confirmed before ordering.
